Dahm Crackers, Scripture Power, and a Baby Beat Down.

Just another day in the life of us Clawsons...

Today I spent all morning cleaning my filthy house. I mean really cleaning. I scrubbed the kitchen on my hands and knees, hauled the vacuum up and down stairs, and took out piles of garbage from Steve's man cave. ( This is dangerous territory...) After I put Capri down for her nap, slapped a movie on for Camri, and got in my workout clothes, I had a date with Jillian Michaels. I was actually excited to work out this morning, which doesn't happen often. (Ok, I'm never excited, but hey, I still do it every day.) I had a great workout. An hour later I went upstairs to find my house trashed. Camri got into the "snack" cabinets and got out crackers, dropped them on my fabulously clean floor, stepped on them and drug crumbs into the front room as well. At some point she got a drink for herself, and dumped a bunch of water out of the Brita pitcher and all over the floor. Luckily the crackers absorbed most of it. Unluckily, she walked in that mixture as well, and it was all over in the carpet. Deflated, I cleaned the mess again. I was making something to eat when Camri came in and asked me for some "damn crackers". I was furious. Then I was ridden with guilt, thinking I had let my foul mouth be transferred to my daughter. I put her on time out and explained that we don't say that. A bit Sheepishly, she asked me, "Mommy, may I please have a damn cracker"? I was about to lose it again when she went to the cabinet and found the GRAHM crackers. I had punished her for a simple misunderstanding. Whoops. On comes the guilt, followed by the hysterical laughter. I thought it was so funny. I'll always think of them as dahm crackers now...

Here she is enjoying a dahm cracker...

Camri reads her scriptures with me in the morning during breakfast, and since she likes it so much, I found her a copy of her own. She calls it her "Scripture Power". She carries it around the house and pretends to read it. She likes to go through the pictures and find Jesus and Moroni. I thought it was just too cute and asked if I could take a couple shots of her with her scriptures. She obliged, and in the one picture she even yelled, "Scripture Power!!!". I'm pretty sure you can guess which one that was. :)

Today Capri seriously let this baby doll have it. She was yelling at it, squeezing, biting, and throwing this baby around for at least ten minutes. It was the funniest thing to see my sweet little angel beating down her baby doll. Usually she tries to give it her Binky's, but not today.

Lunch

A couple of days ago I made Camri a turkey sandwich for lunch, and surprise, she didn't eat any of it. Capri was playing with some toys in the kitchen while Cam and I were snuggling, when I heard what sounded like Capri eating something. I'd completely forgotten about the discarded sandwich, and ran in to see what she could be getting in to. This is the mischievous little smile I came to find. She had gotten her hands on Camri's sandwich and quickly started devouring it. I thought this might be a little advanced fare for her little mouth, but when I tried to take it away, she protested in anger, sat down and started stuffing it into her mouth. So, I let her have it. Devour it she did, it only took a few minutes. She was so happy to be eating it, I had to snap a couple of pictures. Oh, how we love this crazy little girl.

Today for lunch the girls had Ramen Noodles, both of the girls were enjoying them so much I thought I'd snap a couple pictures. Funny enough, Capri ate as much as Camri did.

Camri's mouthful of noodles.

Capri is an expert at shoveling food into her mouth.

Sweet Capri

Capri's new favorite thing to eat is toast with jam. She is doing so well eating, liking almost everything she puts in her mouth. She also loves getting into the dishwasher when I'm cleaning up. She helps by taking out the silverware and an occasional cup. We love her so much, and can't believe how big she is getting. She is going up the stairs, which terrifies us. But, she is learning how to come down them. Usually this involves a bump on the head. Ugh. I think it's time for a gate. Well, here are a couple pictures of our happy little munchkin. Despite a cold and getting her 8th tooth, she is a sweet, happy girl.

Lunch and a Nap...

The last few days Camri has been obstinately resisting her afternoon nap. I took a deep breath and sighed today as I came to terms with the fact that she has outgrown a nap. I was hoping that wouldn't happen for a few more months (or years). Today was just like the days before, and again she wouldn't stay down. So I got her some lunch and went about doing some chores. This is what I found when I came back upstairs. :) Guess we haven't completely outgrown naps after all.

Camri's First Dental Appointment!

Don't judge me. Yes, this was Camri's first trip to the dentist. I feel like such a slacker mom. But in my defense, Steve is always looking in her mouth and we brush all the time. Anyway, the visit started off with Camri totally psyched to get her teeth cleaned by Daddy. However, once we stepped into the office and the rush of people in surgical masks and gowns hit, I knew we'd be in trouble. She was refusing to even be weighed, much less sit in the chair and open up. I figured I'd let Steve handle it, but it soon became apparent she needed a "Mommy Talk". After that she was an angel. Steve was able to do a cleaning, take x-rays and apply some other goup. (I'm sure thats NOT the technical term, but I don't really remember what it was.) She got a sticker, and a bag with some goodies in it. She was happy, and so were we. Everyone there kept telling her how cute she was from her hair to her twinkle toes. She is a crazy kid, but she sure knows how to charm an audience. I love this girl. Here are some pictures from our expedition.
Daddy Explaining what they were doing. Camri looks thrilled, right? Not so much...
After the "Mommy Talk". And NO, I didn't have to threaten her. :)

The Girls

It's been a while since I put up new pictures of the girls, so I thought I would do it before I got angry phone calls from Grandma. Here they are in the cute new dresses from Grandma Carolyn. I love the girls in red.

Last night I was snuggling Capri and I put her face up to mine, and Steve told me she didn't look a thing like me. Now, I know she looks more like her daddy. I won't even dispute that fact. She is a Clawson, big time. But does she really look nothing like me?! Now I know how Steve felt when everybody said Camri didn't look anything like him. Camri looks just like her Mama. What do you think?
