Pre-Halloween Festivities...

I'm a little sick thinking I might have lost the memory card with our visit to the pumpkin patch. Sigh. Hopefully not. Anyway, we did go to Ashland Berry Farm again this year to the pumpkin patch where we got our pumpkins and enjoyed delicious donuts. :) This year our friends the Orvin's came with us and it was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of us painting our pumpkins. We thought it would be fun to try, and it was- but it was such a mess!! You should have seen the rainbow of colors in the tub that night! But, the girls had fun.

Capri was more content painting herself and mommy, rather than a pumpkin.

Camri's pumpkin  was just a mixture of all the colors. :)

Steve's masterpiece: Wolverine pumpkin

We also thought it would be fun to have a little Halloween part for Camri and her friends. We decorated candy bags, made cupcakes, played, and went home with goodie bags filled with candy, spider rings, vampire teeth,  pencils, notepads, erasers, etc... Camri's favorite part of a party is the goody bag, so that's what we focused on. She picked out everything we put in them .

The girls, ready for the party. Camri was put out that I wouldn't let her wear her wig for the party. Scroll down and you'll see why...

Capri's face in this picture made it too funny to not post.

Camri loves Landon, and was so excited to have him at her party. :)

All the kiddo's decorating their cupcakes.

Again, I just liked Capri's face in this picture.

Here we are getting ready for our ward's Trunk-or-Treat.
The wig from you-know-where. What a pain in the butt! All night she was fussing with it. But, she loves it. I think she looks more like Cousin It than Rapunzel, but she is cute in anything. It was a nappy mess by the end of the night. I'll have to post a picture of it after Halloween day.

The girls in costume:

Capri's best friend and sparring buddy, Ryan, rode with us to the Trunk-or-Treat.

Camri and her entourage.

You can see what Capri's favorite part of the event was. :) The girl didn't eat any chilli, but she stuffed this brownie in her face like a starving child.

Date Night!!

It had been two months since Steve and I had gone out on a date.
 With out the kids.
Yep, too long. So, thanks to a great Living Social deal, off we went to Putt-Putt. (Classy, right? Some people go to the ballet, a musical, dinner somewhere that requires a reservation and decent clothes. Not us. We went to Putt-Putt Golf)
We had a BLAST! We enjoyed two rounds of go-karts. Both rounds, Steve won. Because I let him, of course.
Me in my hot go-kart. I swear this one was a lemon. It did not go. That's why I lost the first time.

My signature "In It to Win It" face. Ya, I lost that too.

Steve won by about three strokes, but I figured that's because he kept score. ;)

I did manage to get a hole in one! And I won a super awesome prize for it. Ok, not really. I won a squirt bottle, at my next visit. I think I already lost that ticket.

Here is where I stopped letting Steve win. At Bottoms Up, home of the most delicious pizza your mouth will ever enjoy, I ate more than he did. Seriously. We finished a whole pizza, and I matched him slice for slice. So why, you may (or may not) be asking yourself, did I "win". I also ate a salad. And that was delicious too. :)

Steve said I had to put the picture of me with the pizza on the blog if I was going to put his up. He never specified the size the picture would have to be. Sucker. I thought this picture of him was awesome.

You would think that by now we would both be so disgusted with ourselves that we would go home and call it a night, but we had another hour left of free babysitting and you bet we were gonna use it! So, we found our selves at Sweet Frog, an amazing yogurt shop. They just built a new one closer to our house, and I have a feeling we'll be frequenting it much more often. :) We had an awesome night, and it was so much fun just being together, and hanging out.

Carter Mountain Orchard

We went with our fabulous friends, the Yelle's to Carter Mountain Orchard last weekend to pick apples, and had a ton of fun! Camri thought it was the coolest thing that she got to pick the apples off the tree, and we got to take them home. She was an apple picking machine, with the help of Daddy, of course.

Camri was ver proud of every apple she picked.

Even Capri picked an apple or two. Mostly she just ate them though.

Daddy could always reach the best apples.

Obviously, Camri couldn't wait to try this little beauty. (notice the bite mark?)

Daddy getting some love from Capri...

Followed by Capri turning on Daddy. They are my girls, and they do have mood swings.

Not the most awesome family shot, but hey, we're together. Here we are on the hayride around the apple orchard.

The girls really enjoyed the ride
We had such a fun day, it was beautiful out, sunny and warm. The orchard was packed, but that didn't stop us from soaking up the sun, picking delicious apples, and devouring apple cider donuts. I love these little family outings, and having wonderful friends there with us made it that much better.

A Good Life...

I took these pictures the other day, it was beautiful out, so as usual we were outside playing with sidewalk chalk and eating a snack. I sat there and watched the girls play and just thought, "Wow, this is a good life". I just felt so thankful for my sweet little girls and the simplicity of our life on that porch, in the sunshine. I wished
Steve could have been with us, because it was a perfect moment. Sometimes I get so caught up in all the stuff I "need" to do, I forget to enjoy where I am. And how can you not see how good life is when you've got these faces right in front of you?

This is Capri's newest "attitude" face. She scrunches up her face, puckers her lips and rolls her head. It's hilarious! We love it around here, and she gets asked to perform it several times a day.

Usually when I pull the camera out of my bag, Camri will immediately start groaning about not wanting her picture taken. But not this day. I don't know what I did to deserve these smiles, but I'm sure glad I did it.

I love these girls, and together we all have a good life.

"After Dark"

My awesome friend Cortney (of cortneyheintzphotography.com)  invited me with her to "After Dark Education"  in North Carolina. It was three days of fun filled Photography workshops, classes, and shoots. Talk about fun! The classes started around 1:30 p.m and ended about Midnight, though I saw people out later than that most nights. I also got some good time away from the girls, which gave me a little break, and a lot of understanding on how much I love them and can't live without them. Plus, I got some fun time with a good friend! Thanks Cort!

Here we are with the amazing Julie Klaasmeyer:

Here are some of the pictures I took at the workshop:

Also, a BIG thank you to the wonderful women who helped make this trip possible by watching my two precious girls for me! Thanks Erin and Lauren! You guys are the BEST!!
