Since we came home a couple days early from OBX we decided to put our time to good use and visit the zoo. Camri loved it last year, and this year she loved it even more. Capri had a lot of fun too. The animals, especially the camels and the baby goats made her laugh like crazy! We loved it! It was a perfect 85 degrees, and sunny. Bliss.
Camri always has to ride the merry go round first...
Camri loved feeding the birds and was so disappointed when she would try to pet them and they would fly away.
For some reason, I couldn't get Capri to get this cup out of her face.
After we fed the animals and walked around for a while, we decided to cool off with some snow cones. Camri loves them, and Capri really enjoyed her first snow cone!
She wasn't too keen on sharing it...
Camri's favorite thing to do at the zoo is feed the giraffes. She doesn't seem bothered at all by the huge, slimy, black tongues. She kept trying to feed it one bite of food at a time. Needless to say, we were feeding the giraffes for a looong time. :)

OBX Fun!
We had so much fun on Spring Break this year! We went with four other Families to OBX, and rented a huge, lovely house just off the beach. Our first excursion was to the Currituck Lighthouse in Corolla. It was beautiful, and the weather held up quite nicely through most of our trip.
Our family on the steps of the lighthouse:
And the beautiful Princess Jasmine:
This is what she is insisting she be called. She won't even answer you if you call her "Camri".
We encountered this fella on the road by the lighthouse. Needless to say we stopped letting the kids run around the grounds ahead of us. I was terrified! Every big stick I saw after that, I thought was a snake. We googled it and found it was a Cotton mouth, the only North American poisonous water snake. It was rattling its tail with its mouth open, and totally freaking us out.
Right next to the lighthouse was a nature center, which had beautiful grounds that we had to explore. It even had a marshland area that you could walk through.
Here is Capri in the marshland area. Poor girl just wanted out of her stoller. She is so hard to contain now that she is so mobile.
The next day we went to Festival Park. They had a replica of a ship:
You could go on the ship, and even go down below to the cabin area. We got to see what life was like for those traveling aboard the ship. Camri loved mopping the deck and of course, cooking in the food prep area.
They also had people dressed up, explaining how they made nails and other things from metal, and how they hollowed out canoes. Camri liked "helping" with the canoe and playing in the fire the best.
This picture I took for blackmail purposes. :)
Inside festival park they had a museum and some hands on stuff for the kids to play with. Camri loved the dress up clothes. She loved it so much she asked Daddy to dress up and dance with her. Of course, he obliged. I had to get pictures of that to. Sorry, babe.
Aw, such a good sport. He'll do just about anything for his girls.
Capri loved crawling all over the place, and climbing on things. She liked the mini ship the most, and kept crawling (aka: falling) into it.
The cutest Pirate around...
Another day we went to the aquarium. The girls loved it!
Camri loved these awesome turtles
Even Capri seemed to enjoy the fish in the tanks.
Here is Camri just outside the shark exhibit.
She also really liked touching the sting rays.
Capri liked watching them...
We even found an open Dairy Queen, where we stopped for Camri's first Dillybar. Delicious!
And finally, if you've made it this far- Our best day! The last day we were there we went to the beach. The weather was perfect, with a light breeze that was perfect for kite flying. We spent the afternoon lounging, collecting seashells, flying the kite, and freezing our feet off in icy cold water. Camri loved the water. I don't know how she managed to keep her feet in it so long. It was painfully cold, but she played in it all afternoon. She was a soaked mess by the time we were done, but she keeps begging to go back to the beach. I can't wait for this summer to take her when it's nice and warm.
I can't even believe how much fun we had together...
Capri's favorite thing about the beach was the sand. She ate so much sand, it made my stomach hurt. She loved feeling the sand between her fingers, and would laugh and clap, and grab another handful. It was so much fun to watch her play.
Another unexpected friend...
And finally, Capri's lovely open-mouth kisses. Gotta love em'!
If I find any other pictures I'll be sure to post them! What a great spring break! We hope everyone else had as much fun as we did. I'll post our trip to the zoo another day... But it's coming!
