Easter Fun!!

It's an Easter tradition to make these little birds nests with the girls. They love to make, decorate, and then eat them.

Here are all the goodies they got. G.G. sent money so I got them each a special toy from her, and one toy for them all to share.

I made bunny pancakes for them on Easter morning:

Getting into their goodies!

February and March 2013

Luckily for us, February was a little less eventful than January. We had a lot of fun staying inside, keeping Titan safe and healthy. We also spent a lot of time hanging out as a family, watching movies, playing with playdough, ponies, and barbies. We got our cuddles too, as you can see. I loved this shot of Daddy with his kiddo's. He is such a good Daddy, and I am so thankful we have him. Titan is usually a happy camper, but not at that particular moment.

We decided to have  little Valentines party with our friends the Williams. We made and decorated cupcakes and ate way too much sugar.

Laura and Maddy. Laura is one of the best friends a girl could ask for. I am so sad that they moved later this month. Her husband was in the same Ortho program as Steve, so we could always commiserate. And she is just the sweetest, most helpful friend. We really miss their family.
Camri and Lilly- they were almost the exact same age, and they had so much fun together. She still asks about going to Lilly's house and playing at their "park". The park is really just the Williams toy clad backyard, but to a little girls who's always lived in an apartment, it seemed like a park.

We were lucky enough to have Grandma Carolyn and Ang Ang (Aunt Ang) visit us for Titan's blessing.

We watched movies, made popcorn, went shopping and out to eat. So fun!

The ladies loved on Titan. He loved the attention, as you can see.

 Grandma snuggles:

We got some pictures just before we went off to church to bless our little man.

I loved having my Aunti Ang with us. It was such a fun visit.

I'll post the beautiful blessing Steve gave him when I find it!

And of course, we played in the snow. And by "we" I mean the girls and Steve. I hate the snow, and someone had to stay in with Titan. I wasn't sad at all. I made hot chocolate and cookies while they played.

My little Snow Angel Camri.

Steve had Spring Break at the end of March. We took advantage of the decent weather and managed to get out a lot and have a lot of fun.

Here we are at the Denver Zoo:

Notice Capri's lip? She crashed hard into the couch right before church about four days earlier. I was horrified when I heard her hit. I thought she must have knocked her teeth out for sure. Luckily, she only tore her frenum. This caused some serious bleeding and swelling, but seems to have done no permanent damage. Still, it was quite an adventure. I am so glad it happened while steve was home, because I would've freaked out at the sight of the blood.

We also took the girls to "Utah Pool". They loved it! They had a nice big water slide that both girls loved going down. Even I got in! Titan mostly slept or hung out in our arms. He still isn't a fan of cold water.

Daddy loved playing games with our kiddo's too. Even Titan got in on the action!

And of course, Daddy still had some work to catch up on: Titan helped Daddy with his homework.
He is going to be smart like his Daddy- He's already getting informed on properly aligning teeth! I see a future orthodontist in the making!

I love Titan's face in this picture!

Spring Break went too quickly, as it always does. Daddy had to get back to school and work, but I like to think we made the most of it.

January 2013

My wonderful friend Cortney, of Cortney Heintz Photography took these pictures for me! Ty was SUCH a stinker. He didn't want to stay asleep and refused to pose. Almost six hours later we called it quits. But, I love these pictures of him. Totally worth it. I love having wonderfully talented friends!

I tried another day to take some pictures of the little man. I didn't have much more luck, but I did get a couple of shots I liked.

The very next day, all hell broke loose.

Mr. Titan decided he would get super sick when he was only 12 days old. I noticed he had a little fever. I thought maybe it was just because he'd been bundled up in his car seat. After trying to cool him off, unsuccessfully, I called his doctor and told her he had a fever. She told me to take it again, and when it was still 101.5 She told me to immediately take him to the ER at Colorado Children's Hospital. He was admitted on January 9th with what we found was a bacterial infection (e coli to be more specific) in his urine and blood. By the time he was seen his fever had gone down to 100.4. Steve and I were torn on wether or not to take him home when the doctors started talking catherizations, spinal taps and blood draws. We didn't know that he was really sick, and to do those horrible things to our newborn broke our hearts. We agreed to lettting them get a urine sample. When that came back with bacteria, we knew they would need to finish the tests. They had to perform two separate spinal taps before we could completely rule out meningitis. Luckily, his cerebral spinal fluid came back free of bacteria. A couple of days after admission he was diagnosed with RSV and Influenza A. A couple days after that I discovered he had a fractured clavicle. Needless to say this poor kid has been through the ringer. He had 3 IV's, two blood cultures taken, and numerous other pains inflicted on him. It was hard to watch him go through it all and not be able to help him. It has easily been the scariest thing I've dealt with. But, he remained as sweet as ever. I don't know who cried more during his hospital stay- him or Mommy. I was a terrible mess. It was so awful, having to watch him be poked and prodded all day. The IV's were easily the worst. They had to put one in his scalp. I cred my eyes out for the first two days. Luckily it didn't seem to bother him, and it lasted four days.

While I was in the ER with Ty, I called my Dad. He got into a car the next day and drove quickly ahead of a snowstorm. I was so grateful that he came. It was a time when I just needed a parent. He watched the girls so Steve and I could spend some time together with our little boy. We didn't get much of that time since someone had to be with the girls all the time, and he had school and work to still attend to.

I pretty much had to trick my dad into holding Titan. He was scared of babies before they were hooked up to all sorts of monitors- but he did. Here is the photographic evidence.

Here is my little man, hanging out in his swing. He was such a happy little guy. The only good thing about him being there was all the one on one time we got to cuddle. He rarely left my arms.

Papa Gary had a business trip in CO while we were in the hospital and so he came to visit us for a couple of days too. We were glad he was there!

Daddy loving on his little guy:

knowing that we needed help while Steve was in school and unable to watch the girls, Papa Gary flew out Aunt Debra to help with the girls. They had so much fun with her, and we were so unbelievably grateful to have her. We were wearing out all of our new friendships trying to find people to watch the girls ten hours a day while Steve was in school. She came up to the hospital to see Titan one night, and boy did she love him.

Luckily, Titan got better and was able to come home. We were so happy to have our little man back with us, and to be a whole family again. The separation was really hard on the girls. They worried so much about their brother. Camri still gets upset when we drive by the Childrens Hospital. I think she things it's the hospitals fault that she didn't have a brother and a mom for almost two weeks. I can't believe how long we were there... Oye.

Here are the girls snuggling and playing with their Leappads. So cute! Capri loves to watch Camri play.

 Getting Daddy Snuggles

We were lucky enough to have Grandma Sonja visit us in January. The girls had so much fun getting up and snuggling with her in the mornings. They would play with her Ipad while she snoozed.

Grandma loves are the best!

And of course, you can't have Grandma Sonja visit with out her bringing or making treats galore!

We were sad to see Grandma leave. The girls had so much fun with her and she helped me so much while I was taking care of Titan. He was still a little stuffy at the time, just getting over all the sickness. I love our family. Especially this special lady!
