Family Visits!

Wow, I am such a slacker. In September Grandma Carolyn came to visit and I don't think I took one picture while she was here.  I don't know if I was just sick of taking pictures or we were too busy shopping.  Probably the shopping excuse. :) Grandma came to visit and we had all kinds of fun. We shopped (naturally), went to dinner every night, visited the Childrens Museum of Denver, and did I mention- we did some shopping? We had a great time while she was here, unfortunately, I have no documented proof. My bad.

Our October visitors came at a time when I wasn't sick of my camera, luckily. Grandma Sonja, Papa Gary and Aunt Amy came to see us this last week. We had a lot of fun taking the girls to the zoo, Chuck-E-Cheese, and Mile High Farms for pumpkins. Here are some pictures from those adventures. Enjoy!

At the Zoo:

Capri just loves having her picture taken. Obviously.

Steve, rubbing "the belly".

Capri's new talent. Sticking her tongue out. At everything, and everyone.

Camri and Capri liked playing "Hide and Seek" in these rocks.

The girls all loved the snakes. I don't get it, but they did.

At Mile High Farms, Aka: the Pumpkin Patch:

Capri's favorite thing about the pumpkin patch: The dirt. She literally stopped every few feet to grab up handfuls of the stuff.

The wagon ride:

Capri was a "Papa's girl" this trip. They had fun wrestling and playing together.

Camri loved the ponies. She has turned into a pony freak, actually. And these ponies were BIG!

The girls loved this huge tractor. It made me think of G.G. and Papa Hal. I know how much they love their tractors!

MHF had a bunch of really cute "haunted houses" to view as well. Camri liked this purple one best.

Mommy and Capri, getting our snuggle on.

Our handsome men.

Camri screaming at the haunted house. Scary, right?

Capri, stealing pumpkins off the porch of the haunted house.

On the hayride with Daddy

 Camri loves her Grandma Sonja

Camri very carefully selected her pumpkin, making sure it was "cute, little, and didn't have any stickers on it".

Camri and Amy helped Capri pick hers. She was too busy playing in the dirt most of the time.

Steve beat his did at Chess for the first time ever. He was pretty proud of himself.

We had a lot of fun this last week, and the girls were very sad to see them go. Now, we are just getting back to "normal". The girls are getting settled and seem to be thriving. They are looking forward to the snow we are supposed to be getting later this week, too. :) So far, we LOVE Colorado!!

FHE

One FHE in August, we decided to make a countdown chain for when Daddy finished his residency. The girls helped us decorate all 30 links, one for each month of his residency. Capri mostly tried to eat crayons and rip paper- but Camri was really helpful, carefully coloring and using hole punches to decorate the chains.

I didn't add a picture of all of the links for one main reason. It's DEPRESSING! There were only thirty, but when you think of it in terms of months, it seems like a long time. After we had our treat and got the girls into bed, Steve and I stared at the chain and seriously considered tearing it up. Alas, here it is nearly two months later, and I think, '' Wow, where did that time go?!" . I have a feeling that this time will go by pretty fast, and I don't want to end up filled with regret that I didn't just enjoy the ride. So, as we embrace a new attitude, grow more comfortable and happy in our new place, and recognize the many blessings we have- we find the time passes more quickly. Steve absolutely LOVES the work, and is so glad he decided to apply to Orthodontics. He loves working with the kids and hopes someday this particular field of dentistry will help his golf game. ;) And trust me, it needs it.
