Easter Fun 2012

We had a lot of fun this Easter. The girls got to participate in a fun Easter Egg Hunt at the apartment complex we live in, and the next morning, they got their Easter baskets! We had a lovely dinner with friends that evening, and were able to attend church in the afternoon. All in all it was a success! Here are some of the highlights!
 Camri with her friend Evy.
Capri's "Cheese!" face. Gotta love it.

Daddy and Capri looking for eggs

Cam had no trouble finding the eggs this year.

 Camri and her buddy, Belle.

Capri and Lincoln playing! She already has the boys working for her! :)

Camri looks pretty goofy in this picture, but don't let that fool you, she was SO excited to make these little birds nests. We used them in our place settings for Easter dinner with out friends, and all the kids loved them!

I love this sweet face. She really is such a happy little girl. So sweet, too. :)

Giving Daddy all the good snuggles.

Camri wanted princess tattoo's for the longest time, and the Easter bunny finally brought some.

Camri is currently obsessed with Hello Kitty.

Easter Pictures

Well, since it's  sort of a tradition, I took some pics of the girls for Easter in their dresses from Grandma Carolyn. They were complete and utter turds, but I got a couple of shots I liked. We had a great Easter, filled with Easter egg hunts, crafts, and of course, food. We had an amazing dinner with some of our dearest friends and had a wonderful day at church, remembering the Resurrection of our savior. Camri sang in the primary program, and was completely adorable. :) Hope everyone had a great Easter!

March Happenings...

March was a pretty crazy month for us. Steve was out of town a lot and so it was just us girls for a good portion of the month. I was training for my first 10K, Steve was presenting the research he'd been doing for a year, we had a trip to the temple to see our friends sealed,  Camri had many preschool events, and was sick (bleh!). Capri spent the month snuggling with Mommy and fighting off allergies.

After the thrill of our last Spring Break was over, we took the girls to Belle's Isle for a little outdoor activity. It turned out to be a nice outing, the day was perfect, and sunny. The girls had a lot of fun, and we all did a lot of walking and climbing.
Here the girls are, taking a break from hiking. They were pretty silly that day, and kept making faces at everyone!
Monkey see, Monkey do. Camri taught Capri the fine art of face making.

This is how we go "rock climbing".

Steve went to Tampa in March to present research he had been doing at a conference. This left us girls alone for 5 days! When Daddy's away, us girls play! Well, actually, we go to Sweet Frog. Often.  Here is one of our visits. I love the way Camri kept spoon feeding Capri, and Capri loved it!
Camri wanted nothing but CHOCOLATE on her ice cream. What can I say, "like mother, like daughter"! :)
I decided that this year I needed to run the Monument Avenue 10K. I had never run one before, and this is one of the largest races in the country, so I thought, "Why Not?!' There were over 40,000 runners, and needless to say, it was a total zoo! I'm not sure I would want to do it again, but I had a lot of fun. Steve, not so much. It was raining all morning, and we had to be there early, so the girls ended up out in the rain (with poor Daddy) for almost three hours. I ran the race in 46:22, despite my shoes coming untied (grrr), and being in a slow, full wave.  Never the less, it was a personal record for me, and I was happy with the time I made.
As you can see, Capri was ready to go home. She started crying the minute she saw me. It's good to be loved! Except when you have to carry 33 lbs of  "love" a mile away to where your car is parked AFTER running 6.2 miles. ;)

D.C. Temple with the Brown Family!

On March 17, 2012 we went to the temple with our amazing friends, the Browns. They were sealed as a family for time and all eternity, and Steve and I were lucky enough to escort this wonderful couple. They have been such amazing friends to us, and I am so thankful for the day Ryan Brown asked Steve if he could answer some "questions" he had about our church. It was such an amazing experience to have them come to our home and receive missionary lessons. Steve baptized them both last year, and they have been wonderful members of the church ever since. We are so proud of them, and are so thankful for the things they have taught us throughout the last year. This was indeed a special day.

Tiffany and I in front of the temple

                                                                            Steve and Ryan

                                                                        The love birds...

                                                             Me, Tiffany, and Mandi
                                                                  Ryan, Josh, and Steve
After the sealing, we went to Cafe Rio for lunch and headed home. It was definitely the best St. Patricks Day I've ever had!

Spring Break Day Two: Safari Park and Butterflies!

On day two we went to Safari Park in the Shenandoah Valley. Camri loved feeding the animals from the car, Capri- NOT so much. She was scared, so she sat in the middle seat and watched us feed them.
Cam didn't like feeding the ostrich, but that was the only animal she didn't feed.

Camri had NO fear. I was more nervous about the horned fellow than she was...

This guy wasn't too happy when we ran out of food... Obviously.

Even Steve got in on the action...

Camri loved feeding the pigmy goats, and can you blame her?! They were adorable!
                                                                    The cutest Camel ever...

                                                       The happiest Kangaroo's ever...

They also had a small zoo at the park, which included these awesome kangaroo's. They had an area you could walk around and see them in their environment.

No trip to the zoo is complete without feeding the giraffes...

Capri wouldn't go any closer than this... Pretty sure that big, black tongue is why.

At Natural Bridge they had a really fun butterfly exhibit that Camri thought was so awesome. She loved catching and holding the butterflies.

We had such a fun vacation. It was sort of sad to think about it being the last real "Spring Break" we would have together, but, hopefully there will be many other family vacations to come!
